음악_The Winner Takes It All

ABBA를 좋아한다.   그래서 맘마미아란 뮤지컬을 좋아하고 런던에 가게 되면 늘상 보게 되는 거 같다.   그래서 이번에 개봉된 영화도 당연히 개봉주에 예매를 해서 봤다.   개봉주에 영화를 예매해서 본 것이 얼마만인지 모르겠다.   예전에는 좋아하는 영화는 개봉날 극장 앞에서 줄서서 표를 사서 보곤 했었는데 요즘은 관심이 가는 영화도 어찌하다 보면 극장에서 놓치고 지나쳐 버리는 경우가 허다하다.   정말로 늙어가나부다.   아바와 이 영화와 뮤지컬에 대한 얘기는 시간을 갖고 나중에 좀 더 자세히 얘기하고 싶다. 

 

The winner takes it all.   이 노래와 관련되어 먼저 간단히 얘기하면 메릴 스트립이 맘마미아 영화의 주인공이라는 얘기를 듣고 조금 걱정을 했다.   주인공인 도나는 스무살의 딸을 갖고 있는 사십대 초중반의 아직은 정말 소녀같은 이미지라고 생각해 왔기 때문에 메릴 스트립이 훌륭한 배우이고 좋아하지만 외모상으로 나이가 든 느낌이라서...   그 우려는 영화를 보면서 완전히 가셨다고 보기는 어렵다.   허나, 메릴 스트립이, 즉 극중의 도나가 소피의 결혼을 앞두고 샘과의 대화중에 부르는 이 노래는 훌륭했다.   개인적으로 워낙 이 노래를 좋아하기도 하지만 메릴 스트립이 가사의 감정을 훌륭하게 살려서 불렀고 영화에서 보여준 아름다운 배경과 어울려 뮤지컬에서보다 더 큰 감동을 느낄 수 있었다.     

 

피어스 브로스난은 이 영화에서 참 멋있었다.   ㅎ ㅎ ㅎ   언제나 그렇듯이 좀 불공평하다.
